Top 5 (Books that have been on my tbr since forever) Tuesday

There’s probably a few ways of doing this but I’ll be sorting my Goodreads want to read shelf by date added and then picking some books from there.

Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads now creates all the Top 5 Tuesday prompts and you can go see how and what she chose the oldest books on her tbr!

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (GR/SG) – Ahh, the age of YA dystopias. I think I maybe started this years ago? But didn’t really read on. Still… it’s on the list and I think it’s like four books in total and a few novellas? So a nice series and I am really interested in the whole premise.

Tiger’s Dream by Colleen Houck (GR/SG) – This is the 5th book in a series that I made a friend through it. Let me explain. I was in the teen section and saw someone who was looking for a good book to read. I had just finished Tiger’s Curse (the first book in the series) and I recommended to her. She found me a few weeks later when she finished it and we’ve been friends ever since 2011/2012! Our contact names for each other are actually Mrs Male love interest name – there’s a love triangle and we both have a favourite.

Yes, I AM that friend who makes other friends read more and I love it. Our parents know the other as ‘your library friend’.

I was waiting for this book for years and now it’s finally here but I have no idea if I’ll ever get to it.

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy (GR/SG) – I’ve seen the movie (and really loved it) and I know it’s part of a series. So I should read this and the other books and then I can rewatch the movie!
Also I feel (and I know because I read a whole bunch of them) that there was this big thing of teen protagonists doing diets and fixating throughout the novel about their weight (mostly because their mom tells them to do it). But now, body positivity is everywhere and it’s so great to see.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro (GR/SG) – I do really love retellings and this is a Sherlock Holmes one! But actually Charlotte Holmes is actually distantly related to Sherlock Holmes and there’s a couple of books in the series so that’s even more fun. Except for me… because that adds more books to my tbr.

The Archived by V.E. Schwab (GR/SG) – I really need to read Schwab’s backlists! I’ve 2/3 of the Cassidy Blake series and really liked it. Read a bit of Addie LaRue. Can’t wait for her Netflix film – First Kill. At least I think it’s a movie. This book is just the oldest Schwab one on my list lol

📚🚀📚

There you have it! I did skip a few books because I didn’t really want to add them here. I need to start that Randomising my tbr series I’ve got partially drafted!

What about you? What are the oldest books on your tbr? Mine comes from 2014 – the year I matriculated!
