One For All by Lillie Lainoff (GR/SG) – An OwnVoices, gender-bent retelling of The Three Musketeers, in which a girl with a chronic illness trains as a Musketeer and uncovers secrets, sisterhood, and self-love.
Tania de Batz is most herself with a sword in her hand. Everyone in town thinks her near-constant dizziness makes her weak, nothing but âa sick girlâ; even her mother is desperate to marry her off for security. But Tania wants to be strong, independent, a fencer like her fatherâa former Musketeer and her greatest champion.
Then Papa is brutally, mysteriously murdered. His dying wish? For Tania to attend finishing school. But LâAcadĂ©mie des MariĂ©es, Tania realizes, is no finishing school. Itâs a secret training ground for a new kind of Musketeer: women who are socialites on the surface, but strap daggers under their skirts, seduce men into giving up dangerous secrets, and protect France from downfall. And they donât shy away from a swordfight.
With her newfound sisters at her side, Tania feels for the first time like she has a purpose, like she belongs. But then she meets Ătienne, her first target in uncovering a potential assassination plot. Heâs kind, charming, and breathlessly attractiveâand he might have information about what really happened to her father. Torn between duty and dizzying emotion, Tania will have to lean on her friends, listen to her own body, and decide where her loyalties lieâŠor risk losing everything sheâs ever wanted.
This debut novel is a fierce, whirlwind adventure about the depth of found family, the strength that goes beyond the body, and the determination it takes to fight for what you love.
Release Date: March 8th. This is most DEFINITELY is my No.1 choice for my most anticipated 2022 release. While I don’t have POTS, I do have a chronic illness and was really blessed to see myself in Isabel from Sick Kids in Love. But I love seeing ANY chronic illness in fiction because I can definitely see myself in them. And this one is a retelling of The Three Musketeers!

Right Where I Left You by Julian Winters (GR/SG) – Kacen Callender meets Becky Albertalli in a deliciously geeky best friends-to lovers romance from award-winning author Julian Winters!
Schoolâs out, senior year is over, and Isaac Martin is ready to kick off summer. His last before heading off to college in the fall where he wonât have his best friend, Diego. Whereâdespite his social anxietyâheâll be left to make friends on his own. Knowing his time with Diego is limited, Isaac enacts a foolproof plan: snatch up a pair of badges for the epic comic convention, Legends Con, and attend his first ever Teen Pride. Just him and Diego. The way it should be. But when an unexpected run-in with DaviâIsaacâs old crushâdistracts him the day tickets go on sale, suddenly heâs two badges short of a perfect summer. Even worse, now heâs left making it up to Diego by hanging with him and his gamer buddies. Decidedly NOT part of the original plan. Itâs not all bad, though. Some of Diegoâs friends turn out to be pretty cool, and when things with Davi start heating up, Isaac is almost able to forget about his Legends Con blunder. Almost. Because then Diego finds out what really happened that day with Davi, and their friendship lands on thin ice. Isaac assumes heâs upset about missing the convention, but could Diego have other reasons for avoiding Isaac?
Release date: March 15th. Winters is an auto-read author. I see his name and I know I’ll love it. Even though the trope isn’t a favourite of mine, it’s written by Julian, I think I’ll make an exception for him.

All the Right Reasons by Bethany Mangle (GR/SG) – The Bachelor meets Gilmore Girls in this laugh-out-loud young adult romance about a girl who joins her mother on a reality dating show for single parentsâonly to fall for a contestantâs son.
Cara Hawnâs life fell apart after her father cheated on her mother and got remarried to a woman Cara canât stand. When Cara accidentally posts a rant about her father online, it goes viralâand catches the attention of the TV producers behind a new reality dating show for single parent families.
The next thing Cara and her mother know, theyâve been cast as leads on the show and are whisked away to sunny Key West where theyâre asked to narrow a field of suitors and their kids down to one winning pair. All of this is outside of Caraâs comfort zone, from the meddling producers to the camera-hungry contestants, especially as Cara and her mother begin to clash on which suitors are worth keeping around. And then comes Connor.
As the son of a contestant, Connor is decidedly off-limits. Except that he doesnât fit in with the cutthroat atmosphere in all the same ways as Cara, and she canât get him out of her head. Now Cara must juggle her growing feelings while dodging the cameras and helping her mom pick a bachelor they both love, or else risk fracturing their family even more for the sake of ratings. Maybe thereâs a reason most people donât date on TV.
Release Date: February 15th. Disability rep!! Main character has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome – which isn’t something we see a lot as I believe it’s a difficult disability to disgnose. And also this features a reality show!

Gallant by V.E. Schwab (GR/SG) – Everything casts a shadow. Even the world we live in. And as with every shadow, there is a place where it must touch. A seam, where the shadow meets its source.
Olivia Prior has grown up in Merilance School for girls, and all she has of her past is her motherâs journalâwhich seems to unravel into madness. Then, a letter invites Olivia to come homeâto Gallant. Yet when Olivia arrives, no one is expecting her. But Olivia is not about to leave the first place that feels like home, it doesnât matter if her cousin Matthew is hostile or if she sees half-formed ghouls haunting the hallways.
Olivia knows that Gallant is hiding secrets, and she is determined to uncover them. When she crosses a ruined wall at just the right moment, Olivia finds herself in a place that is Gallantâbut not. The manor is crumbling, the ghouls are solid, and a mysterious figure rules over all. Now Olivia sees what has unraveled generations of her family, and where her father may have come from.
Olivia has always wanted to belong somewhere, but will she take her place as a Prior, protecting our world against the Master of the House? Or will she take her place beside him?

So This is Ever After by F.T. Lukens (GR/SG) – Carry On meets Arthurian legend in this funny, subversive young adult fantasy about what happens after the chosen one wins the kingdom and has to get married to keep itâŠand to stay alive.
Arek hadnât thought much about what would happen after he completed the prophecy that said he was destined to save the Kingdom of Ere from its evil ruler. So now that heâs finally managed to (somewhat clumsily) behead the evil king (turns out magical swords yanked from bogs donât come pre-sharpened), he and his rag-tag group of quest companions are at a bit of a loss for what to do next.
As a temporary safeguard, Arekâs best friend and mage, Matt, convinces him to assume the throne until the true heir can be rescued from her tower. Except that sheâs dead. Now Arek is stuck as king, a role that comes with a magical catch: choose a spouse by your eighteenth birthday, or wither away into nothing.
With his eighteenth birthday only three months away, and only Matt in on the secret, Arek embarks on a desperate bid to find a spouse to save his lifeâstarting with his quest companions. But his attempts at wooing his friends go painfully and hilariously wrongâŠuntil he discovers that love might have been in front of him all along.
