Freebie!!! I’m going to choose 5 books I’d take on a mystical, fantasy trip. Why? Because I’m busy with a WIP where the mc goes on a quest. So, uh, that’s why. Otherwise it would be to like, a deserted island or whatever. Where I wouldn’t be able to listen to audiobooks 😭
The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan (GR/SG) – Yes, I love PJO. And HoO. And definitely Magnus Chase. Haven’t read The Trials of Apollo yet. But The Kane Chronicles is definitely one of my favourites! I love this so much (I was a mythology kid and thanks to the Carmen Sandiego computer game, focused on Egyptian mythology).
But I feel that this one doesn’t get as much love as the other series? Which doesn’t make sense because it’s amazing. I love the Kane siblings! And I can’t wait to see them on Netlfix! But that also makes me wonder how/if they’ll do the PJO and TKC crossovers? I want to see them!
Kingdom of the Wicked (GR/SG) AND Kingdom of the Cursed (GR/SG) by Kerri Maniscalco – YES, BOTH BOOKS because I just listened to the first one and now I’m busy with the second one (34% as I’m writing this sentence. Editing DB here to say I finished it and it’s magnificent😭😭) so I know as soon as I’d finish the first one I’d want to go right to the second one because the cliffhanger!!
And also, what if the quest is something similar to this one? And I could meet someone like Wrath? I think that would be fine.
You see, the issue with keeping up with a series is now I have to WAIT for the third book. And I think that’s absolutely sad.
In Deeper Waters by F.T. Lukens (GR/SG) – This also sort of features a quest? So that’s nice to see. It’s also a good book that I think more people need to read if you haven’t already! Merman!! And magic!! And it’s got a great cover if you just want to look at it!
Wild Sky by Zaya Feli (GR/SG/My Review) – There’s nothing like reading about dragons while you’re on a quest. What if the quest that you’re on includes a dragon? What if you currently have a dragon tagging along? Yes, I think too much about dragons, because I’m UPSET that they don’t actually exist.
Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker and Wendy Xu (Artist), Joamette Gil (Letterer) (GR/SG) – I, for one, would think it good to have a visual book to look at and this is such a cute one as well! Also, it features food, so maybe it’s best to read this after you ate.
Do I have an agenda in trying to get people to read Wild Sky? Absolutely. Please read it, it’s really good!
If you did this prompt, what did you come up for the Freebie? What books would you want to take along with you on a quest? Or what books would you want to give to someone going on a quest if you didn’t want to go on the quest yourself?
