I’m so glad for this one because I kept thinking about books I’d love to have as tv series and had to tell myself ‘Next week, next week’ 😄 If you’d like to see more of these prompts; (and you definitely want to!) go look at Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads and see which books she’d want to see adapted!
Magyk by Septimus Heap – It’s been super long since I read or even remember this series! I really liked it – it was a fun and adventurous middle grade read (of a series) and I’d love to see it played out in a series. Maybe it’ll be like 8 or 10 episodes per season, but I’d love to see the magic in a kids’ show, instead of the usual Young Adult setting (not that I don’t love that, but middle grade fiction can and is great!). Plus – there’s a dragon!
Ignite the Stars by Maura Milan – I think we tend to focus on a lot of fantasy or contemporary young adult adaptations and while they’re really good – there should definitely be more sci-fi series out there! as this is a duology, it’ll be an easy two seasons! You know there are some great sci-fi CGI effects in here (or to be made)
A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna – The third book is coming out in June and… I’m not ready 😢 But serious – if I had to read that this trilogy was being made into a tv series, I literally would not stop talking about it. Yes, it’s another sci-fi series in this post, but this one would definitely be worth it! Just imagine hearing Titania’s voice? 🤩
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab – Like I said before in this post – middle grade definitely needs more adaptations. Especially paranormal/ghost stories. Like Monster House – perfect example of a really good kids movie. There’s this Disney series called The Secrets of Sulpher Springs which is just such a fantastic kids’ show and to show that kids’ show can be just as good as a teen or adult fantasy.
The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh – Yes, I’ve only read the first book but I fully believe this will be one fantastic series. Can you just imagine? They’re thick books so you can draw the plot out for maybe even a full (22 episodes) season? The main character (Celine) is a dressmaker and it’s set in New Orleans in the 1800’s, so you can imagine how fantastic it’ll be!
Yay! There you go! I could seriously talk about possible book-to-screen adaptations all day long! What about you? What are some books you’d love to see as series? Do you prefer long or short series? I’m sort in the middle because as much as I LOVE long series (Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, etc etc), short series can also be great (SOTUS 🥰, Sense8 – even though I haven’t finished the second season because I got too sad about the cancellation – honestly I can go on talking about cancelled series that should’ve at least like 3 seasons 😢)!
Come chat to me in the comments! I’m always up for chatting about books!

I’m more a shorter serie person; like 2 or 3 season, I can get on with. But where we’re at 14seasons… that’s way too much now 😅 it is a much different kind of long rofl
I sadly haven’t read any of thoses, but I was just thinking how Anxious People would be great on tv! Either a movie or have it cut in little shorter episodes? In the same vein, geekerella came to mind, with the on-set of starfield

Generally I like to get into a series that has at least 3 seasons! 😂 The more, the better! With Grey’s, I’ve watched the earlier seasons a lot so i just switch it on and read or blog work – stuff like that 😄
I definitely want more adaptations!
