Okay, yes, it’s not exactly the 21st of April, but I couldn’t pass up the prompt! Also I’ll probably be including the type of music each band would sing, but feel free to include your own or make comments about mine!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by this lucky person.
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda – You’re telling me this isn’t a band that sounds like it plays Alt Indie? Like what The Lumineers would sing.
Release – I have no idea how I got this idea but for some reason Release sounds like the type of band that would sing Evanescence type songs? Like just be able to belt out “Wake Me Up” or “Haunted”, yanno?
Undead Girl Gang – Fiercely feministic songs that are undoubtedly bops.
Wayward Son – Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the song by Kansas. But I think a band with a name like this would sing pop songs that would tear at your heart – much like Simple Plan’s lyrics spoke to the teen in us all, am I right?
Scythe – No question about it. Scythe would be pure heavy metal and I would be all for it.
Saint Young Men – That genre-bending music of Twenty One Pilots would definitely fit a band name like this one. Can’t you just see it?
Patron Saints of Nothing – For some reason, Youngblud’s Hope for the Underrated Youth comes to mind – so definitely that type of feeling you get when you listen to his music. You know, when you’re fed up with society and people – which is a prominent theme in this book.
City of Ghosts – So, it’s super funny. This is an MG book, but every time I look at the title – I’m reminded of the song – Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie. So I guess that’ll fit here quite nicely.
White Cat – I’m definitely getting some great emo-vibes here – Green Day etc. Tell me you see it as well?
Sick Kids in Love – You know how Lemonade Mouth began, right? A couple of kids in detention decided to get together and start a band. Well, basically, it’s the same concept, instead of kids in detention, it’s uh – kids who are sick and most likely met in a hospital. They still take tons of precautions – if they’re unable to play – maybe they have tons of backup? That’ll be interesting.
The Unspoken Name – So, I haven’t actually read this book, yet (a tragedy, I know) but I know it’s an epic fantasy. But for some reason, I can just imagine this title being sung by Hozier; so therefore, this band would sing those types of songs you can listen to if you’re lying down in a field of grass, slowly rotting away.
A bit more than 10, but then again when have I ever stuck to the limit of ten? I had a lot of fun with these! What did you think of my ideas?
