Wahey! So, occasionally, like 3 or 4 months apart, we bloggers answer a book tag. And I’m using the royal we here. Unless you’re totally okay to be part of that ‘we’, then respond with like a taco emoji in the comments.
But this is a book tag I’m really liking as it’s talking about releases you want to read! And that’s great because I want allll the books, and to be able to read allll of them as SOON as they come out but like…does that happen?? I don’t think I’ll be able to keep to one book for every answer hahaha
Thank you, Meeghan, who tagged me in this!! Funny story – she tagged me in this in 2019!! And I’m answering this in 2020!! And there’s just SOO many books out this year??

Your most anticipated release of the year
A book you are not anticipating
House of Earth and Blood – Sarah J. Maas – So I have this marked as want-to-read but I don’t know if I actually want to read it? So we’ll put it here and mayybe I’ll read it. Maybe I won’t 🤷🏻♀️
Most underhyped anticipated release
The Henna Wars – Adiba Jaigirdar
A book you’ve been waiting on forever
The Summer of Everything – Julian Winters – is this cheating a little? I think it is 😂 (I beta read this book and I was so excited to hear about this!)
A book you’re anticipating that’s out of your comfort zone
I’m not a very politics-loving person. I liked my Politics class in uni but even then it was tons to learn. But Yes No Maybe So – Becky Albertalli, Aisha Saeed looks really cute and I already am on hold for it at my library!
Your top 3 ‘can’t-wait’ books of the year
Book 3 – Sangu Mandanna – If this book is anything like A House of Rage and Sorrow I will be DESTROYED but like HAPPILY.
Bridge of Souls – Victoria Schwab
I wanted to say like The Silvered Serpents but I’m not even FINISHED with the first book 😂😂
Untitled Fence Novel – Sarah Rees Brennan, C.S. Pascat – I’ve only like read one (1) volume but I would most definitely stand outside the bookstore with a boombox in the air.
Top 5 most anticipated backlist books on your TBR
Reverie – Ryan La Sala – this counts as a backlist book even though it’s only been out for a few days right? I’m counting it as one.
The Never-Tilting World – Rin Chupeco
Top 3 most anticipated reads for next year
One Last Stop – Casey McQuiston – Kate & Leopold + queer + Casey McQuiston, I’m down, see me at the midnight release (not really because I’ll be in bed watching a series until like 2 in the morning)
The Spice Road – Maiya Ibrahim – It looks really interesting!
Dark Rise – C.S. Pascat – All we have is like a meager synopsis and I’m very very here for this book.

Every time I look at my Goodreads books my list for 2020 releases gets longer 😂😂 and it’ll definitely get longer as the year goes by! What are some of your anticipated releases? Do you share any of mine? Come chat to me in the comments and let’s all suffer because how are there so many books out next year??
Every time I look at my eARC stack I get so excited – so many great 2020 releases to get to! The Henna Wars and Cemetery Boys are definitely right up there for me too!

Great tag and great answers. The struggle is real. Maas for the not win? Whatever. Blek.
I hope you love Reverie and Spin the Dawn!!!!

Right? Big struggle! I haven’t read much of Maas though. Read one of the Celena (is that how you spell her name?) and while I liked the book I didn’t like some things in it. Which is why I said – I might read it, might not 😄
Thanks! Yeah hopefully I can get to them both sometime this year!

This is quite the list, DB! I am super stoked for a lot of these as well, most of which is definitely the final installment in the Celestrial Trilogy. I NEED CLOSURE.

Thank you! I tried to not keep it to like 3 or 5 books a prompt 😂
I need ALL THE CLOSURE.

“why are so many good books coming out” is an always mood tbh, I am mostly resigned to never being able to catch up with the publishing industry 😪
Becky Albertalli books tend to range from “meh” to “I LOVE THIS SO MUCH” for me, so I’m cautiously optimistic for Yes No Maybe So! I just finished The Never Tilting World fairly recently and really enjoyed it (and the ending KILLS me), so I absolutely can’t wait for the sequel; I’m also really looking forward to Unravel the Dusk, since I really enjoyed Spin the Dawn as well!

That’s a very big mood. We need the secret of immortality 😂
I read What If It’s Us and liked it okay. Haven’t actually READ Simon vs. Although I’ve seen the movie a couple of times.
My loan for The Never-Tilting World will come in early February so I’m excited to read that 😁
I really want to read Spin the Dawn so I can get to Unravel the Dusk!

🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮 back at ya!
I’m very excited to see that Fence novel – as much as I loved the graphic novel (and will do it again as I do have the first two volumes). Right? There’s nothing much about the new Pacat novel but I’m very much wanting to read that 😁
