Wahey everyone! I watched a whole bunch of things (again), because this is what we do, yanno. So, let’s carry on with it! As usual, if you’ve watched anything in here and want to scream about in the comments, feel free too! And if you’ve got something that you think I would like to watch, please shout about it in the comments, because I can never have too many things to watch!!
I’m also always trying to figure out if I should include pictures with links or not, so I apologise if you follow my posts and think What in the hell is she doing? Yeah, I have no idea. Send help. Also, am I just rating my favourites all 5 stars? Why, yes I am. Because life is short and they’re my favourites. Also also, you’ll definitely see some… uh, incoherency here and there, because this is how I like to be 😆

Movies
- The Princess Bride
- 5/5 stars. Could you give it anything else?
- It’s a sort of a story in a story, as a grandfather reads to his sick grandson a story about love (twu wuv), swords, fights, everything you could ever want!
- I love love love this movie. It’s weird and quirky and exactly the thing that brightens me up on a bad day
- Descendants 3
- 5/5 stars
- I won’t say much about this, as it is the third movie in the series, but it follows four kids of villains: Mal (daughter of Maleficent), Evie (daughter of the Evil Queen), Jay (son of Jafar), and Carlos (son of Cruella) – also rip to him 💖😢 and it just sort of follows them after the second movie and introduces a new villain, and brings back another one.
- Also, could we just talk about how Hades is clearly bisexual? Thank you, Ill be carrying on.
- If you have watched this and am wondering what’s my favourite song, it’s NIghtfall, Queen of Mean, and Do What You Gotta Do. Because when you say favourite, it clearly means like 2 or 3.
- Gods of Egypt
- 2/5 stars. Maybe even 1.
- There’s this Egyptian guy, Bek (played by a white man) , and he teams up with the Egyptian god, Horus (played by a white man), and they try to take down an Egyptian god, Set (played by, you guessed it! A white guy. Like, Gerard, just because you played the Phantom, doesn’t mean you can do this.).
- But this did make me want to reread The Kane Chronicles. Doesn’t make up for the fact that there’s no Egyptian actors in the movie.
- Men in Black
- 5/5 stars
- Follows a secret organisation that protects aliens from people and people from aliens.
- Pretty sure this is what created my love for Will Smith. He’s just amazing! Also Vincent D’Onofrio is excellent and I really ought to rewatch Daredevil. Mostly because I haven’t watched the third season.
- Stargate
- 5/5 stars
- So there’s this gate that teleports you to other dimensions or places in outer space and turns out there’s this alien race who act like they’re ancient Egyptian gods. It sounds confusing but I love it.
- Apparently people don’t view this as a good movie which is very surprising to me bc I love it very much. Sci-fi has been a big part of my life and I love the Stars (Star Wars, Star Trek, and Stargate).
- But yes, I love this movie and I’ve probably watched it like 10 times or something – and I don’t think that’s even exaggerated
- And also this is definitely a good way to start watching the Stargate franchise – which I highly recommend you do. After watching this movie you can begin with the Stargate SG-1 (it’s like 10 seasons, highly doable, well sort of). And then there’s Stargate Universe, which I haven’t really watched but Robert Carlyle is in it. AND THEN Stargate Atlantis is THE BEST.
- Speech & Debate
- 4/5 stars. It was going to be 5 but something happens in the movie, which I mention below that was not cool at at all.
- Three teenagers are frustrated by what’s happening in their school and they make a pact to change it. They set up a ‘Speech & Debate’ group, which looked like Drama and Debating mixed together.
- Is Diwata Rachel Berry written right??? And by Rachel written right I mean Rachel wouldn’t have focused on her love life when she has awards to win.
- SKYLer astin has a BeARD in this movie and it’s yeah, it’s super good.
- Darren Criss appears in this and he still looks amazingly good how is that possible??
- LIN MANUEL-MIRANDA AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Yeah he’s in here and it’s hilarious.
- This is. A lot. Of secondhand embarrassment and I’m here for it
- I can’t decide which of the kids are my fave so they’re all my children now
- But like, Howie gave Solomon a Molly (which I think is similar to Ecstasy?) without telling him (trying to get him to be more chilled), so that was wrong. First of all, not every person opens up and becomes more fun with drugs? And also you don’t just give a pill to someone without their knowledge/their consent?!!!
- Kristen Chenowath sings a song???
- Full Out
- 4/5 stars
- A cute movie about a gymnast who loves her sport but faces an obstacle due to an injury. She manages to find another passion through dancing and even goes back to gymnastics.
- It was really cute. I liked it – I mean it has dancing and gymnastics together? I’m sold.
- Apparently it was based on a true story? So that’s cool.
- Scooby Doo
- 3/5
- So before the real plot of the story happens, The Mystery Inc. gang broke up, but then the plot and Mr. Bean invited them to an island where strange things have happened.
- I remember my mom actually made us walk out the theatre, either for this one or for the second one – bc of the monsters.
- I remember this being funnier as a kid. But Scrappy-Doo is just as annoying now as he was back then.
- The Lion King
- 5/5 stars!!!!!!!!
- I loved loved this movie and thought it was great.
- And people moan and groan about how it’s not the original – like it never claimed to be the original? It said it’s a remake? That’s the whole thing. They don’t claim to be 120% like the original.
- And I actually like remakes bc then you can do different things, change the story up a bit, add a song, create more of a backstory with characters!!!
- Also, like all the cinematography??? 💯💯💯💯💯💯
- Beastly
- 3/5
- So the movie is about a hot guy who turns ugly and the only way he can become hot again is to find love? Wowww, I’m glad that this came out when it did because I can’t see it coming out nowadays.
- Also, I find that whacking golf balls off a roof is really assholery bc that could hit someone or their car????
- And uhm…. why did the blind guy (played by Neil Patrick Harris) – I can’t remember his character name but it’s the main character’s tutor – and he gets his sight back??? Like when did he say that he wanted to see? Are they trying to say that all blind people are waiting to get their sight back?
- Kin
- 3/5 stars
- So there’s this boy who finds an alien weapon (cool) and his dad is Dennis Quaid (cool cool) and he runs away with his older brother because other people want the weapon or because the brother got into trouble with other people? I was confused as the movie went on.
- The movie seemed to look interesting as I started to watch it and hten it just got super confusing.
- Listen… even though South Africans grew up using the word ‘coloured’ – It’s a reclaimed word now and we use it on forms and everything – I don’t use the word around African Americans, or any other black people who I know aren’t from South Africa. And Whatever Franco brother goes and uses it??? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙄
- I liked the kid. The older brother is annoying as hell.
- I thought it was all sci-fi but then I realized that it’s more about the family than the sci-fi aspect.
- Malevolent
- 3./5 stars
- A team of Ghost Hunters are faking actually knowing anything about ghosts until they take on a job that does involve the supernatural.
- This is better than what I thought it would’ve been.
- But it is also intense and does have gory scenes and talk of torture/child abuse.
Series
- Stargate Sg-1 (still watching)
- 4/5 stars
- This follows the movie. A group of people, a linguist, Dr. (Captain) Samantha Carter, Jack O’Neill (funnily enough – his surname actually changed between the movie and series. In the one, can’t remember now, he only has one ‘l’. I also don’t remember his rank because Wikipedia says something but that would be after the series ended and he might’ve gotten a promotion). And then Teal’c, who is the best. I love him. And they explore different worlds.
- I’ve watched more Stargate Atlantis than SG-1, so now I have to go about the proper way 😜
- Titans (still watching) (Are we just supposed to say Titans? Because I like to say DC’s Titans).
- 5/5 stars
- Nightwing (the superhero formerly known as Robin) sets up a team of other gifted people.
- Beast Boy and Raven are my favourites.
- I loved this very much!! I’m always a fan of dark and gritty things.
- No Good Nick (EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE NEXT SEASON)
- 5/5 stars WATCH THIS WATCH THIS
- It’s about this kid and she’s a con artists (????!!!) and she moves in with this family, making them think she’s a distant relative LISTEN just watch it!!
- Sean Astin is the dad here, which was a huge reason to watch it.
- Please please please watch this because this is amazing honestly it was fantastic and the next season HAS to come out super soon.
- I also texted my friend the link for this and said I HAVE NEW KIDS because that’s how I deal with characters I like.
- A Series of Unfortunate Events (still watching)
- 5/5 stars so far
- 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is amazing. I remember the movie but that just pushed 3 books into one 🤷🏻♀️.
- Honestly everything in here makes me think back to how stupid the adults were in the books.
- I laughed when I heard Patrick Warburn’s voice as it’s very distinctive and if you don’t think you’ve heard him somewhere before, you’re unknowingly lying.
- Sunny has always been my fave character. She likes to eat.
- My sister is a nice girl and she knows how to do all sorts of things 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- American Horror Story (still watching)
- 4/5 stars right now?
- This is an anthology type of series (something I seriously want more of). Every season revolves around a different storyline and characters (meaning you’ll definitely have a favourite. Like the season I’m watching now is Freakshow, so the story revolves around a freakshow.
- Binging this as the new season is coming out soon, I’ve still got a while to go and even though there’s only 3 seasons on Netflix (Australia) for some weird reason – I’ll be able to loan it from my library, so yay for that!
- But I do love this show because it’s very dark and gritty – did you know I like dark and gritty things?
- Pretty Little Liars (still watching)
- Maybe 3/5 stars?
- Four friends come together after receiving messages from an anonymous source, claiming to have information about their missing friend.
- Technically this isn’t my first time watching it but it’ll be my first time trying to finish it 😁
- My fave of the Liars in Order : Emily, Spencer, Hanna, Aria (if you watch/have watched it, who’s yours?).
- The 100 (still watching)
- 5/5 stars
- A spaceship sends 100 juvenile delinquents (half of them have probably only done a low-level crime though) down to earth to see if they can live.
- Last time I watched this I stopped around the third season – I do love love this show and it’s High Time I’m back to watching it
- Clarke is excellent and so is Octavia.
- Sotus: The Series (still watching – i like to savour this)
- 5/5 Stars just take all of the stars and my heart thanks
- So Kongpob is a engineering freshman and at his university there’s this hazing process all the freshman go through. He stands up to one of the seniors (a third year, though I think they call the fourth years also seniors, but sometimes the third years are also called juniors, so I’m confused), Arthrit, and it goes through some tropes you find in fanfic and it’s excellent.
- This is a Thai boylove drama and I am very new to them – unless you call Yuri on Ice! a boylove drama? – but I am planning on watching a bunch of others.
- There’s a dramatic entrance of the ‘bad boys’ and Arthrit remembered his (Kongpob) name and student number the next episode/meeting and I instantly slammed my hand down and said YES.
- Kong is such a Gryffindor and everyone thinks Arthrit is this badass scary guy and he spends like a few hours with Kongpob and he’s really this soft teddy bear – This this is good
- I love them they are my sons thanks please go watch this
- THE STARES THE FLIRTING PLEASE LET ME LIVE I NOW LIVE FOR THIS SERIES
- The friendships in this?? are Legendary and I love it.
- The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (still watching)
- 4/5 stars (I haven’t even gotten past like the third or something episode, I think).
- A dark and gritty (ooh, what a surprise for me!!) reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. But Salem doesn’t talk – which is sad.
- If you didn’t know, I have a black kitty cat and black kitties are the best (of course, every cat is the best).
- Hopefully I’ll get back to this soon!
That’s all for August! I have no idea what I’ll be watching is September – though I do know I’ll be saving a whole ton of horror movies for October – or I might start now because it’s always time for horror time 💃🏻I might watch a whole bunch of bad shark movies and review them. I think so, that’s a great idea. What are your thoughts on the matter? 🤗
