I’m linking with a weekly blog meme that allows you to take books off your tbr (because we need this). Lia over at Lost In A Story originally created this so go follow her if you don’t already!
The Rules:
- Go to your Goodreads To-Read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
- Read the synopses of the books.
- Decide: Keep it or should it go?
- Repeat every week to gain maximum efficiency (aka to make yourself feel better).
To-read shelf before ‘the purging’: 940 (I added a few because this is how blogging works – like how dare new books come out and sound all interesting???).
The Books:
Reason why I added it:
I read Reality Boy and really liked it so I added this one. Not sure if I added King’s other books.
Verdict:
Keep. Maybe I’ll get around to it in the future.
Reason why I added it:
As previously mentioned in #1 of this series, I’m a fan of this author as she led me to making a friend – and this series is Egyptian mythology!!
Verdict:
Keep
Reason why I added it:
I’ve read the first two books AND AM VERY VERY PATIENTLY AWAITING THE RELEASE OF THIS ONE!!! And by the time the third book comes out, I’ll have to reread the other two.
Verdict:
Keep
Reason why I added it:
I keep on misreading the title as Untitled lol. I read the first two books and novella and thought they were really cute? Such a light read – definitely recommend the series to people.
Verdict:
Keep
Reason why I added it:
Well, the cover caught my eye and then the rest looked good. You know how it is.
Verdict:
Remove. I’ve read some reviews that the book portrays asexuality in a poor way – a harmful misportrayal? Not really into that – the misportrayal.
Reason why I added it:
A few people I follow hyped this up and the synopsis looked really good.
Verdict:
Keep.
Reason why I added it:
The synopsis looked good. That and a few people hyped it up.
Verdict:
Keep.
Reason why I added it:
A YA FEMALE SHERLOCK HOLMES BOOK???? Of course I added it!!
Verdict:
Keep.
Reason why I added it:
Probably in my heyday of a Mead kick or something. Didn’t really look at the synopsis, though.
Verdict: Remove. As much as I do love Mead, this one doesn’t really do it for me.
Reason why I added it:
I like Keplinger’s writing – relatable characters. I also liked the cover.
Verdict: Keep.
Stats:
Books looked at: 10
Books taken off: 2
Books still on: 8
To-be-read shelf after ‘the purging’: 938
So not really much success, looking at how many books I took off, but maybe next time will be better!
Also!! Announcement: I’ll be joining in on Blogoween!! I’m part of this fantastic Discord chat called New Bloggers and some bloggers in the group will be hosting. I’m very excited, because even though my family/town doesn’t really celebrate Halloween, I grew up watching a whole bunch of Halloween movies! Here’s a link to Clo’s (Book Dragons) post where she talks about all the prompts!
So Long and Thanks For All the Fish!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! I’M SO STUPID EXCITED THAT YOU ARE PARTICIPATING WITH US! THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!!!!
